Beaufort Chorale

Chamber Choir Founded in 2015

Beaufort in Bristol

About the Beaufort Chorale

The Beaufort Chorale was founded in 2015, composed mainly of alumni of Christ's College, Cambridge (after whose founder, Lady Margaret Beaufort, the choir takes its name).

Under the musical direction of David Halstead, the choir has undertaken regular concerts and services around London and the country.

We maintain a high standard of performance, with repertoire predominantly from our roots in the Anglican Choral tradition.

Recent Engagements

Over the last four years, the choir has toured around the country, providing music to go with the Anglican Eucharist and Evensong. Favourite repertoire includes modern English works, such as Howells' Evening Services, Requiem and Collegium Regale Communion Service, Parry's Songs of Farewell, and anthems by Stanford and Elgar, and varied European repertoire including works by Victoria, Schubert, Brahms and Bruckner.

Special services have included the Bosworth Commemoration in 2016 at Leicester Cathedral: the choir provided music for this service in the first anniversary year of Richard III's reinterment.
